Arrest made after woman dies from car crashing into Arizona home



Police said the alleged driver is facing a charge of second-degree murder.

GLENDALE, Ariz. — Glendale police have arrested a woman who allegedly crashed a vehicle into a home last November and fatally struck a woman inside.

On Wednesday, police announced the arrest of Celeste Downer, 22, for a crash reported on Nov. 10, 2024 near 67th Avenue and Beardsley Road.

Downer was identified as the driver of a vehicle that plowed into a residence and hit a 35-year-old woman, according to Glendale police. 

The injured woman was taken to the hospital and later died from her injuries.

At the time of the collision, Downer allegedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.124, court records show.

Glendale police said Downer is facing several charges including second-degree murder.
