Shooting in north Phoenix leaves 1 dead, 1 hurt

PHOENIX — A man has died and a woman is in the hospital after a shooting near 7th Street and Bell Road in north Phoenix, city police said.

According to early reports, officers were called to the area shortly after 11:30 p.m. When they arrived, they found that both victims had been shot.

First responders rushed the two to the hospital where the man later died from his injuries. The woman’s injuries are non-life-threatening, police said.

Detectives are working to learn more about what led up to the shooting, and police expect the area to be closed for some time.

The identities of those involved weren’t immediately released.

Calls to Silent Witness are answered 24/7 by a live person and submitted tips are accepted at all times. Submitted tips are then sent to the detective(s) in charge of the specific case. 

Individuals who submit tips that lead to an arrest or indictment in the case can get a reward of up to $1,000.
