Man detained in connection to deadly Phoenix shooting

PHOENIX – A man is in custody after another man died after being found shot late Tuesday night in a Phoenix neighborhood.

The shooting happened at around 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 21 near 21st Avenue and Bethany Home Road.

What we know:

Phoenix Police say officers responded to the scene and found a man in an alley who had been shot. The man was taken to a hospital where he later died.

What we don’t know:

Police did not identify the victim or provide any details on what led up to the shooting.

What they’re saying:

“Officers were able to locate and detain a man, on scene, believed to be involved in the shooting. Detectives are currently investigating,” Sgt. Phil Krynsky said.
