20-year-old man killed, another man injured in Phoenix shooting



The shooting happened near 40th Avenue and Camelback Road on Thursday night and killed 20-year-old Said Abdikadir.

PHOENIX — Officers are searching for suspects after one man was hospitalized and another man was killed in a shooting in Phoenix on Thursday night, according to the Phoenix Police Department. 

Phoenix police said that detectives were called to the area of 40th Avenue and Camelback Road at about 9:30 a.m. on Friday due to a shooting.

When officers got to the scene of the shooting, they found 20-year-old Said Abdikadir dead in a car after being shot. 

As detectives investigated the shooting, they learned that another man had been dropped off at a nearby hospital on Thursday night after being shot. That man, who has not been identified, provided limited information to officers, but they were able to connect him to the shooting that killed Abdikadir and learn that the shooting happened at about 11:30 p.m. on Thursday. 

Multiple people have been detained and questioned about the shooting, but no one has been arrested or charged. 

Detectives are still working to follow leads in this case. If you know anything about this shooting, you are asked to call Phoenix police at (602) 262-6151 or Silent Witness at (480) WITNESS (948-6377) or (480) TESTIGO (837-8446) to report a tip in Spanish. 

Silent Witness:

Arizona’s Silent Witness program allows people to send in tips and share information about crimes happening within their local communities.

The program shares unsolved felony case information in multiple ways, including TV, radio and social media.

Anyone who has information on a crime or recognizes a suspect described by the program is asked to call 480-948-6377, go to the program’s website online or download the Silent Witness app to provide a tip. The identity of anyone who submits a tip is kept anonymous.

Calls to Silent Witness are answered 24/7 by a live person and submitted tips are accepted at all times. Submitted tips are then sent to the detective(s) in charge of the specific case.

Individuals who submit tips that lead to an arrest or indictment in the case can get a reward of up to $1,000.
