With Funding from the SaddleBrooke Community Outreach, the Tri-Community Food Bank Purchased a Much Needed Freezer | Community

Due to the increased numbers of families served in the communities of Oracle, San Manuel, Mammoth and Dudleyville; and the increased amount of frozen food offered, the Tri-Community Food Bank (TCFB) greatly needed a new walk-in freezer. Thanks to funding from the SaddleBrooke Community Outreach, a new walk-in freezer was purchased and installed.

Among the many TCFB volunteers, members of the Rotary Club of Tucson Sunrise volunteer on the first and third Mondays of each month to unload deliveries from the United Food Bank (UFB) in Mesa, Arizona. Those deliveries include frozen food such as meat and fish, fresh produce and bags of nonperishable items such as nuts, rice, noodles, spaghetti sauce, peanut butter, etc. The new freezer is a welcome addition.

The Tri-Community Food Bank is an all-volunteer organization, spending zero funds on administration costs. It is located at 108 Redwood Road in Mammoth and is open five days a week (Monday to Thursday and Saturday) from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The TCFB is an IRS 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation and an Arizona Qualifying Charitable Organization.
