EPA and TUSD to highlight multimillion-dollar investment in electric buses | News

TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – This morning, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) will hold a press conference to announce a nearly $4 million investment to replace TUSD school buses with zero-emission electric models.

The investment was made possible through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which provides essential funding to advance public transportation.

Through the partnership, TUSD aims to reduce health risks associated with air pollution, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and achieve cost savings through reduced maintenance and fuel costs.

The press conference is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
