The city’s police department says 44-year-old Christopher “CJ” Williams is facing nine charges so far.
PEORIA, Ariz. — A Peoria man was arrested by the city’s police department and is facing several charges related to alleged inappropriate conduct with a teen. The man is the assistant superintendent of student services at West-Mec school, a public school in the Valley, police said.
Peoria police detectives arrested Christopher “CJ” Williams, 44, on three counts of sexual conduct with a minor, three counts of sexual abuse, two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and one count of assault.
The investigation into Williams began on Sep. 25 when police were notified of an alleged sex offense incident by the victim’s friend. Police said through the information they received, they learned Williams was having an “inappropriate relationship” with a teen.
Peoria police said a close friend of the victim, identified in court documents as a 16-year-old girl, was in a “relationship” with Williams. The witness stated the victim and Williams had been in this relationship since June 2024.
The witness stated the victim and Williams went on “dates” to the movies and Williams took the victim to a local coffee shop to “celebrate their three-month anniversary,” according to court documents.
Court documents state Williams engaged in sexual activity with the victim and that he provided the victim with alcohol. Photos from Snapchat were provided to police that showed the two together and physical evidence of sexual activity.
Police said a search warrant was issued to have a forensic analysis completed of the victim’s phone. Messages between Williams and the victim were found starting from the beginning of 2024.
The victim told police that Williams would “kiss her any chance that he could get” which included instances at his home or out in public, court documents state. Court documents detail extensive physical and sexual interactions between Williams and the victim.
The victim told police that Williams also took pictures of her when she was not fully clothed and that Williams knew she was 16 years old “due to him coming to her birthday parties.”
On Sep. 28, Williams was placed under arrest. When Williams was interviewed, he stated that the victim was 16 years old, and if the charges had something to do with the victim, then “they are false” and he needed an attorney, court documents state.
The Peoria Special Victims Unit is investigating the incident and encourages anyone with information regarding the case or any additional victims to contact Detective Ochoa at 623-773-8383.
